ARTIST PROFILE
A talented and capable professional, Gerald Siciliano has learned his craft well from masters in Europe, Asia and the United States. Trained in traditional studio methods at renowned Pratt Institute, where he now teaches sculpture mold making and foundry, Gerald merges his formalist background with the complexities of 21st century values and perceptions.
Siciliano celebrates in the act of creation with workmanship that is evident in every aspect of his sculpture and three dimensional design inventions. With a personal style that moves beyond mere technical ability, Gerald presents a window through which to view our collective consciousness - a door through which we return to a place where we have never been but know.
Gerald Siciliano's elegant figurative fragments evoke seductive images and memories that touch a space within. The surprising range and depth of his imagery include diverse aspects of figuration and nonrepresentational themes yielding a body of work that is exhibited and collected in the United States, Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
Siciliano's personal explorations with form, space and material combine in new orders as lasting embodiments of the sculptors art. His command of material and craft gracefully merge with a searching eye to produce myriad levels of abstract visualization. His carved, cast and fabricated work in marble, granite, bronze and stainless steel have been exhibited and are collected throughout the world. Successfully completed projects include numerous private and public art commissions, architectural and reproduction sculptures, antique restoration, two and three dimensional illustrations, marketing display forms and special promotion services for conferences, meetings and exhibits.
Working closely with private and corporate clients Gerald executes his sculpture commissions maintaining the highest standards in quality and design. Siciliano has created numerous large scale sculptures for developers, corporations and municipalities in the United States, Mexico, Korea and Morocco. These splendid works, in stone, granite bronze and steel, are a testament to the timeless
universality of Siciliano's work. Each sculpture is thoughtfully created with a keen understanding of the particular site, culture and tradition.
Siciliano has successfully merged "fine" and "applied" art, creating numerous works for display and marketing promotions. To the delight of his clients Gerald's works defy the distinction that artificially separates these compatible worlds. Clean and unpretentious, Siciliano's merchandising and display forms range from the simple to the elegant evoking the poetry of the figure in space. His highly popular forms are custom created to the client's strict specifications. Gerald has worked closely with art directors to create 3D images for print advertising with far greater impact than comparably priced 2D illustrations.
Gerald Siciliano Studio Design Associates creates custom designed and highly individualized three dimensional solutions for corporate meetings and conferences. By reinventing studio casting techniques as a unique marketing innovation Siciliano produces a premier event environment unmatched in the industry. Siciliano's cast sculptures are some of the most memorable and sought after premiums at any meeting or event.
Gerald Siciliano maintains an ever changing body of work ready for immediate delivery. His work is available through select galleries, representatives or directly from the studio.
